Since you've used so many flower prints and flowery designs, I'd go for a couple greens to tie everything together. An inner one with possibly a teeny tiny yellow print and a more olive or grass green for the outer border

Thanks GrannieAnnie for the suggestions. I thought the first border to be white, a small one to make the quilt float, and green is a good choice as outer border(s). Maybe a lighter green first and a darker one as outer border?

Go ahead with the first white. It wil unify all your blocks--------------then green!

I hope the quilt helps you feel close with your mom. I miss mine so, after nearly forty years. Best to you.

I started hand quilting Ode to my Mom. I never hand quilted before so it's a learning curve.

A perfect quilt to HQ, Anael. Often times when doing projects for someone I think of that person...many happy hours of remembering your Mom.

Oh my gosh, that is gorgeous. Your hand quilting is the perfect touch and you're doing a wonderful job. Thank you for re-posting. I often wonder what happens "afterwards" as sometimes we never hear!
