Inherited Quilt Tops
8 Attachment(s)
As a lot of you on this board have followed a lot of my thread... I am very new to quilting... I inherited a ladies quilt room a few months ago and I am just getting around to sharing some of my "treasures" ... This is just SOME of the treasures........ These are unfinished quilt tops. Some are embroidered and some are patchwork! Enjoy! :)

Wow these are treasures indeed! I love the first one best. Thanks for sharing - these are wonderful!
yes the first one is my fav!!!!!

I love the first one too |
What amazing quilts. So much work I wonder why she never finished them. I am so glad they found a good home.
Oh you must be very happy !
I have no idea why she never finished them... she had SOOO many projects started... There are at least 50 quilts that are cut out, but none put together. I have put them all into zip lock bags, and one day I will go through them and see what there really is. I just put together what I thought "went" together!!!!
You are so lucky to get these.
WOW - you are SO lucky!!! Will you quilt them yourself?
I have joined the UFO thread on the board. Year to date I have finished four almost five bed size quilts. Makes me even happier that I am finishing some. I am sure she would be happy to know you are taking up her starts. Good luck. Please continue to show us how it goes.

OMG, how lucky you are to have such wonderful tops. Post more pics as you get them quilted.

These are all so beautiful. You truly inherited a gold mine.
A fantastic array of quilt tops! Kudos to you for wanting to preserve them and not "get rid of them". Best of luck in your progress.
WoW I love those..I am sooooo jealous.
I think they went to you because someone knew you'd love them. It's always wonderful when the giver thinks about what the recipient would want. So now you have a treasure.
Wow you sure did get a lot. I am sure she is looking down on you (hopefully) and thrilled that you are getting them out in the open and hopefully on their way to being completed quilts.
These are awesome. It looks like that fabulous umbrella quilt was made using some of those iron on transfers. Love it.
The 2nd to last one, blue split star is fabulous and the lovely ladies, wow! You are now the caretaker of some wonderful pieces of history. Are you going to quilt them, display them. What are your plans for them? peace |

Can you see me turning green with envy from there? These are wonderful treasures. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for sharing the pics of your wonderful inheritance. Lucky you.
What a treasure. So glad to see someone share a loved collection. I was indeed lucky enough to inherited my much loved Aunts quilting collection and it often brings me happy tears. I use her fabrics for donation quilts which seems right that others share the warmth. Enjoy.
WOW - love the quilts.............. you are so lucky to have such treasures..... She was a true quilter having one then one project going at a time. Right now I have at least four scrap quilts going....... go from one to the other - that way I can use all the dif size scraps.
Love the 4th, 6th and 7th one. I bought a top over the weekend that is the same pattern but the stars are all different fabric and the background is a dark lilac. What do you plan on doing with them?

great quilts!
nice quilts
You have been blessed with these quilts. I enjoyed viewing your other quilts that you are hand quilting and do a very fine job of it!!
What a beautiful variety of quilts, and my fav is the second from the last. It appears to be purple and cream or white, with the star in the middle and expanding border around that. I was wondering if anyone knows the pattern name of that block? Thanks to anyone who can answer. Good luck on finishing all those quilts. Just one at a time, and they will be done.
A treasure trove---you'll have to post them as you finish them.
These are all wonderful!!! You're going to have so much fun finishing them!
Those are all wonderful. You've got your hands full but oh, how I'd love to be in your shoes.
