Meet "Doc", my peacock quilt
1 Attachment(s)
this is "Doc". He's named after my grandpa who was a doctor and had peacocks on his farm. I made Doc himself many years ago in a class, learning to use metallic threads in the bobbin. He was done on a black fat quarter.
Timeless Treasures is now making a line of fabric called Plume, so I used that to make the background. I decided to cut away the background of Doc and will applique him on. I'm quilting each row of fabric with a different quilting pattern. The first row has my tissue paper pinned to it right now for a stipple design. |
Beautiful! I love peacocks......please be sure to show us your finished project!
|
Beautiful, great job! Isn't it hard to remove the tissue paper after you are done stippling?
|
Ooh, that's really nice!

Great guy "Doc" I love the Plume line look at it frequently trying to decide what to make with it!
Definitely let us see the finished project! |
OMGosh...this is going to be a knock out. I love the thread work.

Wow, I love peacocks and have been on a major hunt for just the right fabrics. Love the peacock you made in class. Do you know if there is a pattern available? Thanks.
