No, people are not crazy! I love scrap quilts, but personally don't like art quilts or modern quilts very much. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Not crazy... Just different strokes for different folks.

I need to find a flannel sheet!

I used a flannel backed tablecloth for a while and then I glued to it large pieces of felt I found in the remanent bins. I find that the felt works best at holding my fabrics for my 'design wall'.

With no wall space for a design wall perhaps using a set of bifold doors draped with a flannel sheet or piece of felt might work. You can just fold it up to put away when needed. I am facing a wall & space shortage in my temporary sewing digs right now. This idea recently came to me so I am gonna try it.

Fraew - NO, you're not the only one drooling over that design wall. I am too. But I have a very small sewing room and NO wall space. So I'll just keep drooling!! LOL

Flowergirl, I know that feeling. I have about 3000 designs in my computer, a large % are my own. at 71 and disabled, I know I will never get to the majority of them.

Mollymunchkin, I love your Plus scrappy. I may have to make one.

My "design wall" is just the side of my refer, with the foam from the refer packing duct taped to it. As I make blocks for a quilt, I pin them up. I do block layouts on my bed, with DH helping decide on the order.

A few scrappy finishes--Easy Peasy (Cool Cat Creations), Jamestown Landing (Bonnie Hunter), and the backing of Milky Way.

Angelia,

All are gorgeous... that red JL blows me away. Your work is fabulous.

Where's the front of Milky Way?

I didn't show it since it is only two fabrics--not scrappy!
