My apologies. You are right about the star. I used a different star pattern. It's by Ula Lenz called Triple 6ray Star. I can't find a link, but I did send an email to Ula Lenz asking if it was still available. On the pattern, each point of the spinner actually called for three different fabrics, but I just used the same fabric for all pieces.
I did find this one http://quilterscache.com/H/HexedStarsBlock.html which is very similar and could be squared off instead of hexagonal. "We set up our page completely new and so it will take some time to upload so many pages. The free patterns will take a bit longer but the stars, the hearts and the New York Beauty patterns will come and they will be available for free in the future, too.
