This is my first star Strata topper. I think I did pretty good choosing colors - its for fall. I do have one question for those of you who've made one. How did you bind yours? Did you do a pillow case method and not bind it or did you quilt it and then do a regular binding on it?

Very pretty! I did the pillowcase thing on the ones I made. I really enjoyed making them. They all have such a different look to them, but all are pretty. Blessings to all. Kathryn

Love it!! Very pretty. :)

I haven't made one yet, but have fabrics to make a C'mas one. Planning to do the pillowcase method to finish it...seems like an easy finish for this one.
I love the colours you have used...very striking!! Patti |
It is really fun to see everyone's combinations! I think you nailed Fall.

What I did was put the warm and natural batting down first, then the backing and the star spin on top of the batting, right sides together, Then sew around the star spin and leave an opening for turning. The opening needs to be just large enough to put yor hand in. Then turn it right side out and poke out the corners and then hand sew the opening closed. Then you can put a few pins in it and then go ahead and quilt it. I used invisible thread and just quilted from corner to corner. I have mine on the table also. your is so pretty with the green in it. Mine has some brown in it and my mother wants one for Christmas, but I'm not sure what colors she wants. Have a great day, Huggies, Fay
