Three AAQI quilts finished, now to get them registered.

This afternoon I put the last stitches on the binding of these 3 quilts for AAQI.
The first one is an experiment using the phases of the moon. I found Sara Teasdale's poem--and took the first 2 words and last 3 words to put on front. The second is a further downsizing of a Civil War Cot quilt, more info in this thread. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...ed-t47479.html The third is fence rail inspired by this bit of antique doll quilt. I like the contrast of light and dark. |
Great ideas! I do love the rail fence. Your little moon quilt is so "artsy"- I like it, too.

Agreed, the moon quilt really is artsy. That little piece of the rail fence quilt is darling! I can see how it would inspire you.

All are very nice ~ and for a very good cause!

Your minis are so darlin'! Some day I'll try a mini but until then I'll live vicariously thru yours. :)

Each one of those little quilts is a treat for the eyes! I am in love with the fence rail. The AAQI is going to be able to raise a good bit of funds with your pretty quilts - people are going to snap them up! Bravo to you!
How big is the teeny tiny little velvet (or is it silk?) quilt you have pictured first and last? What did you use for the bakcing - it is very intriguing! I have always smiled when I read the signature poem you used by Basho! |
