Sounds like you had a verbal agreement for the price of the item and she is backing out of that agreement. Keep the wallhanging until you get the price that was originally agreed upon.
I agree with $200 minimum. And if she still balks....tell her that you listed it on Ebay. The bidding has started! Itemize your invoice. What is the deal about "discount"??? Sandy |
Once burned, you wont let that happen again. People don't realize the time put inyo this.

your wall hanging is fantastic! The sentiment involved would make it hard for me to withhold .......... next time I'd go for a written contract as suggested. I hope you get your agreed upon price.... if not, maybe this is your "pay-it-forward". My family says I should take orders.... I tell them to look up the meaning of "hobby".... if I were contracted, it wouldn't be fun any more.

Thank you for your replies. Yes we did talked about the prices and I had told her it would be $125 plus cost of fabrics etc. She said fine no problem!!! I may even pay you more than that. I had let her know it was ready for pick up and gave her the costs plus 20 percent discount which came to $126 She said no way only $60. I gave her some links to check out what others are charging for the same size wallhanging but very simple pattern on it. She has not gotten back to me yet.

I agree $200.00 would be a very fair price for this work pf art. Remember that is what it is. Drafting the pattern, collecting the components , piecing, quilt prep and quilting, binding and label. No less than 200.00.
And it is wonderful. peace |
It is beautiful.

Seems unanimous......don't you dare let her have that quilt for $60!!! I would box it up and keep it in my closet before I let her have it.....and that would be a shame, it's gorgeous. Keep us posted....I'm sure you haven't heard the last from this woman.

What's up with the discount?
What an "entity" you are dealing with! May the world give your 'client' everything he/she deserves! |
It sounds like she agreed to $125, so I don't know why she's backing out at a cost of $126. She is getting a bargain at this price for all the work you've done. Maybe you can sell it to someone else. It's beautiful.
