Here's my quilt top, almost ready to go to be quilted. I have to add the bottom and top borders. You may recognize the black and white swap blocks.

I chose the blues to represent "coming out" of the darkness, the suicide awareness group I so strongly support.

The quilt will be raffled off 11/4/09. All proceeds go the the AFSP. We are selling them $1.00 each, 6 for $5.00. The tickets were donated by a friend that has a printing shop.

So- my question- what would look good for a quilting pattern? Just a meandering? Local shop offered to do it, but she only does meandering. I don't know if this lends itself to be more sophisticated. Help!

(last- a pic of this year's team. walk was yesterday. I am wearing the green volunteer shirt and the orange beads, symbolizing I lost my brother to suicide)

Beautiful quilt. I think a star (light) pattern would look wonderful. But if this lady will do it for you and she only does meandering then I say don't look a gift horse in the mouth.

Wow, that blue is really pretty on the black & white blocks. I would have never even thought of that. So sorry about your brother but glad to see you are using your experience to help others.

Your Quilt has turned out gorgrous!! :D
I just love the way you have put it
together. You make me want to get busy
& get mine pieced together. As far as the
quilting, I would take the donated time.
    :D :D :D :D :D :D

Fantastic quilt. I'd take the local lady up with her meandering--it's free.

I think this is an awesome tribute to your DB!!! :D :D :D
I too, would take up your friends offer of quilting it for you...a meander would like nice on your quilt...maybe a different meandering style on the borders? Anyway...I know that your quilt will raise a lot of funds for such a worthy cause 8) 8) 8)
