yes they are pretty, if you don't see the squash already behind the bloom then they're males, you'll probably have a lot more of them than females but that's ok .
i saw on a cooking show where they battered and fried the young blooms but it sounds like too much trouble for me!

I pick everyday. If you will notice in one of the pics there is a little zucchini in the bottom. I have both zucchini & yellow crookneck. DH loves fried squas & we also have 22 tomato plants. Guess you can guess what I will be doing this summer.
