I saw this pattern on the cover of a quilt magazine that hit the stands last month. I've always shy'd away from "on point", afraid of having to deal with stretch. This one made me do a happy dance. I'm posting two pictures, the first is after it is pieced and before it is then cut into three pieces. Those three are twisted around and pieced together. The end result is the second pictures. It made me do the "happy dance".:-D :-D :-D This is my second quilt top for 2010!

I don't remember the magazine; i was waiting in line to check out at JoAnn's just after Christmas. It had "twenty top patterns" or something like that on the cover and this particular pattern caught my eye. I think the one I saw in the magazine had angles that weren't as close together and had flowers fussy cut where I have the white and yellow. It was really pretty but i think I like mine better.

First off I took some graph paper and turned it catty-wampus (sp?) so that I was working with diamonds. Then i cut it where the pattern told me to and layed it together to form a square. Here is a pic of my planning page after it was taped together.

Wow, that is really cool! Did the pattern explain how to piece it and then cut it or did you figure that out on your own? (Sorry if that's a dumb question, I'm fairly new to the world of quilt patterns)
