My boyfriend had to explain how you got from your layout graph paper to the finished product. I agree that yours is nicer than the one in the pattern. For the pattern one, I would just sew together 4 patches on point, no reason to do it a special ways.

Yours is cool since you sew them in a seemingly weird way and then presto-cuto, it's a cool weave. Thanks for sharing.
