I found this in my EQ5 and I want very much to make it. However, I cannot find instructions for what sizes to cut the fabric. In the EQ5, it is called Double Windmill.

I have tried looking online and have not had any success. Does anyone have a link, or maybe just instructions to tell what sizes to cut the pieces?

Thanks so much.

I would print one off and cut it up. Cut your fabric larger than that for the seam allowances. Just a thought:)

What is an EQ5? That pattern would be really pretty when made. Hope you find an answer. :) Good luck

It means Electric Quilt. It is wonderful! You can play around with blocks and fabric and actually see what your quilt will look like before you ever start cutting.

you need to set the block in your quilt. Once in the quilt, highlight just that block and go to File, Print, Template and put a check mark in the box that says Size from Quilt. Sound like you are new to EQ5. Perhaps going through the tutorials in the instruction book would be helpful.

I have EQ7 and this looks like the foundation piecing setup for the Card Trick block. What section of the block library did you get the block outline from?

I cannot remember what section it was. Sorry.

I do not know how to paper piece. Have never thought of it.

In EQ5:
Block Worktable

File
Print
Foundation Pattern
There are 3 tabs. Numbering/Sections/Options

In Options you can set the size of the block.

The Sections & Numbering info should already be set to a correct default so you shouldn't have to play around with them unless you want to.

You can preview how it will look until you get it right before you print it out.

This block is pieced with FOUR 5-piece foundations around the smaller center block.
That's done with partial seam sewing.

Once that whole center is complete, then you put the corner HST's on.

It's a very, very cool block. One of those "how she'd to that?" kinda blocks.

However, the coloring default from EQ for this block is ....vomit inducing. Blech.

OK, then. Ignore the above.

Back to the block worktable.

File
Print
Rotary Cutting
You'll have the option to set the block size.

If you don't like Rotary Cutting, then choose Templates.
Again, you'll have the option to set the block size.

This block is in the Block Library. Came right up in a search.
