Like the way it looks, very colorful. Also think the applique idea would look good too . Whatever you choose, it's going to be a pretty quilt.

Well, hey, that looks good to me! The white draws the eye and makes the pattern pop, but also gives the eye a place to 'rest' from the 9 patches. Your talent is wonderful!

Here's a thought: we had a speaker at our guild that said if she didn't like the stark white in a quilt, she would put the whole thing in the washer with Rit dye (tan) and tone it down to a more off white color. Of course it will dye the entire quilt somewhat, but it gives it a subtler color overall. Worth a try if you don't like it now.

This is a good idea. Looks like all the fabric came from the same "line". You can use tea or coffee also. Thy that on some of your leftover really small scraps, and see what that looks like.

But I like it as is, too.

Next time, buy graph paper, four squares to the inch, and simply sketch it out and color it in to see if you like a design before investing time, effort, and money into a project. I know it's a bit time-consuming, but making an entire quilt and not being please takes even more time.

I think it looks very nice. I wouldn't change it.

I sew liked your initial block when I first saw it yesterday. I have EQ--I got tired of using graph paper--and took the liberty of using your idea and giving it a twist for a full sized quilt. The blocks I used are 18" finished using 2 1/2" cuts for the 9P units so the finished quilt measures 82 x 82. If I would add 6" finished border I increase the size to 94 x 94--a nice size for a Queen size bed. Thanks for the inspiration as I wrangle with my scraps.

You could dip the entire quilt in strong tea; it would, of course, change all the colors, but it would tame the stark white.

I like it! Like the idea of red around each block. Love to see it finished!
