I never realized what a difference a machine makes. I always use my small brother machine to do my piecing. This week however I was having problems with my free motion quilting so I took my Husqvarna Mega Quilter off the rack and tried using it and boy does it make a difference....

It sews so smooth and i love it, which really stinks because I don't wanna put it back on the rack and dont have the money to buy a second one. lol oh well

Maybe look for one used? Try joining sewitsforsale, a yahoo group. Or place an ISO add for one here.

well. . .so it takes a little time to set the nicer machine on the quilting frame. Just do it. Then take it off and use it to do your patchwork. You'll be glad you did.

I have the Mega Quilter and just love it. I used to do all my piecing on it, then I learned to FMQ, so I bought a less expensive machine for piecing and only quilt on the Mega.

My old machine was giving me fits. I bit the bullet and bought a new one, with a 1/4" foot. WOW! I've been quilting for a loooong time and couldn't believe how much I would love this machine!

I almost gave up sewing at all using an old Kenmore. When I started quilting my daughter suggested the Bernina 1008. I agree with you, a good machine makes all the difference.
