I am making this for my 8yr old GD and it is alot of hand applique using freezer paper. I want it to fit her full bed and now I am thinking about putting plain squared inbetween the butterfly squares instead of all butterflys. What do you all think? I have made 30 butterfly squares so far.

Very pretty! I think it would look good either way!

Sew cute! I think plain squares in between would really highlight the butterflies.

I love your work. It sure took some real love to make all those squares. Maybe a sashing of verdigis green would make this come alive. Kind of a stained glass window look.

30 blocks and the sashing and cornerstones will not make it big enough for a full size bed? it should be big enough....
Looks good and girly...

How about a pertty pieced block inbetween the butterflys, or even a simple four or nine patch.

Whatever you decide be sure and post photos. I would love to see your finished quilt.

Many quilts have more than one type of block in them.

Your appliqued butterflies are beautiful.
