Default Wonder who made this sweet quilt?

I stopped in at a small local thrift shop today and found this adorable lavendar gingham baby quilt! The hand quilting is outstanding and I am sure it has never been washed! It makes me wonder what the story behind it is. Someone put a lot of love into the stitching. I couldn't leave it there- it looked lonely. The back is solid white with gingham binding. Just wanted to share. Cost me a whole $3.00.

That is so sweet! Sometimes simplicity can be the best in things! I wonder why it was thrown away... I would have kept it as an heirloom for my baby. But everyone is different. Glad you found it as someone who appreciates the work and labor of love in it...

It is just absolutely darling. Beautiful animals and quilting. You are so lucky to have it.

So glad you found and rescued that adorable quilt. I own the one a friend of my grandmother made for me before I was born. I treasure it and am sure my kids will get rid of it after I am gone. I gave it to one of my sons before his baby was born and I found it in their basement. I brought it home and will have it framed. I hope when they get older they will learn to appreciate family things more.

That is a good news, bad news story. The bad news is someone didn't care about all the time and care that went into that little treasure. The good news is that it has found a home where it will be appreciated.

So glad you found this treasure and rescued it! A shame that someone didn't appreciate all the love and hard work that went into making this darling quilt!
