Text is jumping when typing how to mend

Text is jumping when typing how to mend
Some time ago someone put on a place to go on the computer when typing a text the curser kept going back into the middle of previous wording. I forgot to save it and now mine is doing it and driving me silly. I would be grateful if anyone can help.
