Thank you! After much debate and teeth-gnashing, I ended up purchasing Embird Studio a couple months ago. I tried out several programs and liked Embird the best. So far, it has not disappointed!

Hello everyone, I just looked through this thread and you all have beautiful fabrics and blocks!! Thanks for sharing. I have the book but have not started a block yet. I'm not new to applique but I've done very little in the way of embroidering blocks after the applique is done.
I notice some of you are working on the edges of the applique with a satin stitch. But what about the embroidery? Is everyone doing that by hand? Maybe that would be a good take-along project for going to bee.
Again, you all have beautiful blocks and I've enjoyed looking at them.

Hi Ladies,Is it too late to join this contest? My mom and I have had the book for quite a few years and I've always wanted to do a couple of the blocks in this book for a quilt for my room.Happy Quilting.Hugs Katie

Cindy, I am going hand embroidery on my machine applique blocks. They are small and travel well.
Katie, you can jump in any time with however many blocks you would like to make. It is not really a contest, as there are no prizes and no "winner" but just a group of people who are encouraging each other while we work on this lovely quilt. We love to see photos and chat, so join in whenever you can!

Looks like I haven't been posting my finished squares lately. These are #10, 11 and 12. I'm working on #35 now. We are going away this wknd and I figured I could do the embroidery and not have to take a lot with me. Yep, lots of cat hair included.lol

We went away for the weekend so I quickly appliqued the center of this block then I only had to take my pearl cotton with me. I figured that was easier than trying to applique and keep things straight. Not sure why it put that white block on the picture but you get the idea.

Very nice DD! Your blocks are beautiful, keep them coming. I've had to take a short break as Ragnarok is less than a month away and I have ALL KINDS of garb to make before we go. Once July rolls around, I hope to be able to make up for lost time.
