Ok played some more lol....and this is what I have done so far and I like it this way. I have light, med and dark values and warm and cool temperature. I like the squaresness /pointiness of it. I will continue to build on it to at least 60x60. I sure hope the patches down fall off the wall lol..

I made tuna salad and a veggie salad, had lunch and now I will do some more. I think it took somebody some kinda figuring out to make this Swoon. I guess you could pick a block and figure out to do it this way. I will give it a try when I get caught with this and my other project, Maybe next month. The only other quilt I can compare this swoon quilt to is the Broken Star..I found another broken star in block base that would work quite well. I will put it on the back burner and maybe check it out later when I take a break.

Rosy, I like your changes. It's no longer a swoon, but you made it your own! BTW, this is what the original swoon block looks like. The scrappy swoon was based on this original shape:

Oh ok SB, now I understand about the Swoon. The block reminded me of a carpenter's wheel.

I think they are pretty much the same! The Swoon block was renamed by Camille Roskelly who made it really popular again with her quilt pattern. To me, it looks like one big flower.

There ya go Rosy- you got your swoon on! LOL
Loving all the swoonies I'm seeing so far.

I still have not been able to start mine as I had a request come in for one that needs to be done ASAP. I will make one of these beauties soon.

Thanks Ladies and iron is turned off, machine off, music is playing, drinking tea. Quilt is done lol. Except for putting it together and that is nothing. I had four blocks left from when I was going to change it and just a few squares. I think I will make a couple pillows and I'll put this quilt on my bed for the summer. Let me go measure...74x74, I subtracted the seams for sewing. I will put a 1 inch border to keep everything square and then will give it a think.
