Wow Carriem! Are the planes paper pieced? Love the pop of red in the flange. I've never tried that technique either but I think it looks great on your quilt.

asimplelife--yes the planes are pp'd...except the very front triangle...that was sewn when I added the "sky" corner. It is "raw edge" since I haven't learned any other "applique" yet.

There are pages and pages of wonderful scrappy quilts, with more being added all the time. I love checking out the albums when wanting ideas for quilts. There is so much talent on this board. I always get more ideas than I can ever use!
