I've been searching on the web. Are any of you familiar with this site--or am I the only novice here LOL?

I tried a lot of ways to show my kids leaving the nest & becoming independent. Colors are birthstone colors.
Binding is from subway print. Changed the background several times. Done!

Dotty- I think your quilt is really extraordinary.......love your birthstone colors against the night sky. The bleach pen is interesting and something new to me. Thanks.

Bleach pen is such a great idea, Dotty. Darn I was in town yesterday too and will be a few days b4 I go a again.:hunf: The Dresden Plate inspired quilt reminds me of a mother's ring. Any symbolism to the "arrows" pointing away from the center? I too wanted my kids to be independent--trying at times but well worth it.

watercolor, the control is the drying in between layers. No control, tie-dye.

abd--very cool! i will try it. thanks!

dottie-- love your quilt! i think the most trying part of raising kids to be independent is living with their independence. i miss them, but they are all living their lives well. that's what i wanted, right?

Yes, arrows symbolize moving away from home. I was just given a Mother's ring. I love it.The bleach pen is really good for putting "snow" on a winter scene.

I like your birthstone colored quilt and your background fabric. Even though the moon tries to show up in other places, the one that does show clearly is well placed.
