Default 50's sock hop salad dishes

Just came home from the sock hop event. My Amish broccoli salad had about 2 tablespoons of juice left and Lynne the 4 cans of marinated long green beans--about a dozen broken pieces left. The beans are something I would take for our monthly potluck meals.
We had 5 different green salads, tuna noodle and a jello dish with fruit and NO veggie jello salads to be found.

A lot of ladies dressed in poodle skirts, most bought online, etc, some with saddle shoes. One gal bought a pair of $5 white tennis shoes from Walmart and painted the black on them. Lots of very good decorations and 45 records hanging from the ceiling. Some of the gals are thinking to use the costumes at Halloween.

The event was a complete success.

I was wondering what you would take - glad it was a success!

Thank you for the suggestion on the Amish salad with the cauliflower, will keep that in mind for church potluck meals. Was nice to have empty bowls to bring back home.

Have to let out my secret about the broccoli, my Kroger sells frozen 'chopped' broccoli in one pound bags. The pieces are much smaller than the 'cut' broccoli. WELL, I got 3 of them, defrosted in the fridge, poured hot water over them in my colander, let drain well. Did fresh cauliflower but poured hot water over the bits in another colander. Then finished the salad with dressing and remaining items.
I did test one bag prior to the event, just in case it did not work, so pleased it did. I was working in concrete that Friday and did not want to hand cut fresh broccoli.
