I have two recipes that a friend gave me. She asked me not to share the recipe with anyone; so I don't. She died last year but I still honor her memory and don't share. However it is written down in me recipe book so family will have it after I'm gone. Otherwise I'm willing to share.

I always share my recipes, but what ticks me off is to share a recipe with someone then they turn around and claim that it is their recipe... That happened with a double chocolate pie recipe I had. I gave it to a member of the family. Then at one of the dinners, the person claimed they had brought their famous double chocolate pie recipe.. I guess that made her feel better too. Just thought it was kind of shallow. But oh well such is life. As my Mom used to say, "It takes all kinds"

I lost my mom in January this year, she was 90 and a very good cook. I've used her recipes all my life, passed on to my children, then my grandchildren. We all love the memories of "granny". Even in her later years when she no longer was able to cook, she collected recipes and always shared them with us. Sharing is caring as someone else said....just to be able to say my daughters can cook is something to be proud of these days...LOL

I don't use recipes too much so sharing can be an issue, but I certainly try. Yesterday I baked a cake for a church event. Just a lemon mix, but homemade butter frosting and raspberry filling. One table got pushy, not about the recipe, but about, "What's the name? What's the name?" I finally said, "Spring".
