A friend uses one of those iron off pens and draws a line on the back side and sews her border on, then trims.
I have not tried this yet, I am a bit of a coward and have not done anything...

This is my suggestion also. love the pinwhell movement, the borders compliment nicely. the top boder is reversed. Guess this means my favorite is #3.

I am looking for instructions on what I am calling a y-block. Its half of a half square triange and half of an hour glass block. I hope my description is understandable.

I sort by light and dark. I use a "brown" paper bag to determine, light and/or dark. This way when sewing together I don't worry about medium. Have had the same 10 inch brown square for years

Love the contrast of fabrics, I have not done a log cabin yet. I really like the friendship stars with the cabins in the center. Domestic machine quilting, fastatic job.
