I like some of walmart fabric but the problem here in South Thomaston,Maine is that this walmart is slowly going out of there fabric and other quilting things that they have.

We have no fabric left at our wal-mart. It wasn't very good quality anyway. I stick to quilt shops, and connecting threads online if I need something. You can't touch it and check for color but it is quality fabric.

Stopped yesterday at the next closest WalMart and Hancock Fabrics - both are in West St. Paul, MN - all the fabrics that were $4.44 have jumped to $4.94 at the WalMart store.

Hancocks had some cute novelty prints - but they were about the same price as LQS prices. I only saw one or two employees in the store when I was there.

Guess I'll have to go shopping in my stash.

OK Lets start a write-in request to WalMart! I have just fired off a email to the ethics dept at Walmart and told them it is unethical to run all the other stores out of town and then close their fabric dept. down. You ladies and gentlemen could do the same in your own word and maybe we can start a revolution. Thank you sewcrazygirl for the address hppt:/walmartstores.com/7663.aspx. Go Quilters!!!!!

I just sent in my request - thanks for sending the link. It was easy to get to the customer response section. Hope it helps! It's always good to have choices!

I see you live in Hermitage. I live there a hundred years ago. Boy has that place changed. I live in Hermitage and Old Hickory back in the 70's. And Mt Juliet too.
I was at the Wal-Mart in Hermitage last year and they was closing out the fabric and boy I racked up on material it was like 75% off and then I called my friend and told her she better get there and then I went back and got some more. The store in Madison has material but not alot of it. I usually go there and get their Quilt of the Month. Hope your husband does better.

Thank you for my husband. Unfortunately, the Dr's say it's just a matter of time...Which could mean anything. He's been seriously ill since the late 90's. At this point in time, he has so many things wrong, except cancer. His neurologist called last week and said some abnormalites showed up in his last bloodwork. Waiting to see another specialist.

My girlfriend told me that the Hancock's in Hendersonville closed. Is the Joann Superstore still in Rivergate? I liked that store. Out here in Tulsa, we only have regular Joann's and they don't have near the selection of quilting fabrics. And I hated to hear Sally Chaney's closed. She was more former dealer.
Yes the JoAnns is still open but I dont like going to that one because it is all so unorganized. I usually go to the one in Mt. Juliet.

I seek out management when I am in the store and complain to them. Don't know if it goes any higher or not. Guess I am going to have to say that JoAnn's or Hancock is going to get my business instead of them.

I used to live in Verona Hills Estates, just east of West Elementry School. Wonder if it's even still there.

When did they open a Joann's in Mt Juliet? I guess it is a superstore. When I lived in TN the Rivergate Joann's was a nice store. Garment fabric in the front and ton's of quilting fabric at the back of the store. Mt Juliet was so small when I first moved there in the 70's, it only had a gas station and convience store at the corner of Mt Juliet Rd and Hwy 70 and a very small shopping center about half way between Hwy 70 and I-40! It's probably been 10 years or better since Ive been there. I used to have a t-shirt that said *Where the hellis Mt Juliet, TN*

That's not what I was told by an instructor. The more dots or numbers tell you the number of psocesses it goes through to achieve the quality we love.
