Maybe Febreze it too. Over and over and just air it. I hope the smell leaves. I hate that kind of smell. Not the smell of oiled older machines. That is not bad at all. LOL

Hey everyone!!! I just got caught up on reading the last 40 pages since I was in Texas. Shewwwwww! That was a lot of reading. Well, guess what? I finally got my new "to me" featherweight. She's from 1948. I got her from John Bryant aka: featherweight poppy in Salisbury, NC if anyone is interested. She's a beaut! I've already posted pics quite a ways back, but will again. I've finally decided on a name for her. I just talked with my 87 yo Grandmother to find out if she used to sew and she did and so did my Mother. So I've decided to name my machine after my Grandmother and Mother respectively. My Grandmother said "Thanks for Honoring me this way!" I loved that. Sew her new name is Edie Jeanne. Welcome home Edie Jeanne! Welcome home!

I have to agree, she is pretty. I haven't sewn on her yet, but I hope to be able to in the next few days. I'm excited! Thanks you guys.

I wanted to share a picture of my Mercury machine. I'm not sure what year it is but she's a pretty machine and runs great. I bought her for $20 at my local thrift shop. She was upstairs in their attic and had been stored up there along with some other industrial machines that were used for reupholstering. It had the original case is excellent condition and the machine wasn't even dusty when we opened it up :)

Very nice little machine. My hubby doesn't sew/quilt much but when he does it is on the Feather Weight. He was the one that bought it for me too years ago. Eventhough he gave it to me I think it is really his machine. LOL
