    I hate it when I go to pin projects in any room other than my bedroom, loose a couple pins in the process, and get scolded to the nth degree when they'd later turn up in someone's foot!

    I had a cat that I had to hide my pincusion on. She would pick all the pins out and toss them all over the table!

    If you can think fast enough - let go of the thread. Not as much will unwind, and holding onto the thread doesn't really make the bobbin roll less.
