Billy, I am not as coordinated as you are -- or maybe, I am too programmed by our modern gadget world that says you have to have the right foot for the job? Anyway, I am having a hard time wrapping my brain around being able to free motion quilt with a straight stitch foot. I am going to try, but would really like to have an applique' foot or darning foot so I can see better when I try to do stipling or whatever during FMQing.

Most of the time it is the old oil gumming up in the works. In my 301 manual it states to put a little Kerosene in the oil holes and run it until if frees up then put a drop of oil in the same spots afterwards.

A lot of the time you can pop the top of the machine off and open the face plate and take a hair drier and warm it up then put a few drops of oil in the spots and it will work.

Billy, I have a 221 Featherweight that the case is in bad shape. Do you know where I can get the fabric to cover the case so I can redo it? Thanks

Billy, I answered my own question since I posted to you by reading these sites. I now know singers have their numbers on the front and the copies have them underneath, which this machine does. The one my friend has is in beautiful shape, but is obiviously a copy from the pictures I saw.

Miz Johnny that is the perfect foot - I think - because it says it works on the 66! The problem is I can't buy it because in order to bid/buy off of the 'Trade Me' site you HAVE to be located in Australia or New Zealand! What a bummer!
