I love this board. Just yesterday at our postcard club meeting one of the ladies gave my husband, who loves to bake, 2 bags of starter. I have loaves in the oven as we speak!!! I would love to try the applesauce instead of oil, and would like to see if there is a way to reduce the sugar some. It seems like it has a lot. I am really excited about tasting it, and will go to the website to see the other options.

Thanks so much for sharing. My sister used to make this all the time. She had different recipes for all flavors. I will see if I can get them and share with all.

Also, on the vanilla pudding - - - instant or the "cook" kind????

I personally use the instant kind.

You can use instant chocolate pudding and chocolate chips.

So many different ways to change the flavors.

    Happy baking,
    Sandi

This sounds like something good to give for Christmas presents to members of our child abuse prevention group. Many thanks again.

Your so welcome everyone! I hope you all have wonderful success with it. I have heard of making it in different flavors. But, honestly the original is so wonderful I end up making it like that every time. Yes it is instant pudding that is used. Sorry, I should change that on my original.

Thank you for the starter recipe. I thought it was something like that, but never knew how to start it up from scratch.
