OMG!!! I can't even imagine being that close to them!!! What great pics! And to think that I was so excited to see one (!) swooping down in the water for a fish in Seward Alaska a few years ago!!!! And by no means was it this close!!! Thanks so much for sharing!

This IS the time of year that the eagles can be found on the Mississippi River around the Alton/Godfrey area. For those that want to plan a road trip though, you should know that it would be unusual to see that many and especially not up close like that. They are usually seen flying between their nests in the trees along the banks down to the river to feed. They are a beautiful sight though.

I agree with this....bald eagles are interesting. Watching a live cam of two sitting on their nest.
