I still have the first machine, my sister has the second one, and both sew great!
I learned on the Singer treadle as well and I have it. It was my mom's first and only sewing machine.

    I did.
Dad later put a motor on it.
Could not be located when Mom died.

Also had a hand crank child's machine
that Mom took to the dump because
I was using the full size by then.
    SAD now want it back.

I learned to sew on a treadle machine at age 8. Made clothes (even my prom dress) on it until I got married in 1965 at which time I treated myself to a White electric machine. I love sewing and have fond memories of sitting at the treadle. Only negative I can remember is having to tie knots at the beginning and end of sewing because it didn't have reverse.

I learned on my Mom's old Singer treadle. It had belonged to my grandma. Mom used it, as did I, until I got my first electric one in about 1974 for high school graduation. I am 54 now. It never occured to my mom to buy a motor driven machine. ha!

yes, I have very fond memories of thet tredle machine,I was about nine yrs old,the one thing I still remember is the bobbin, I always thought it looked like a bullet,it was about an inch and ahalf long and to a sharp point on one end.
one day my mother gat upset and tossed it out literly,I remember crying, but what a long ways they have come now.
I have my mother-in-laws tredle machine now and cherish it.

When I took sewing in High School we had Seniors in my class so they got the new "modern" machines. I hated it & hated sewing for years. Probably why I'm not the best sewer now

I had to learn on my grandma's treadle before I was allowed to "advance" to mom's electric machine. By the same theory, dad made me learn to drive on a stick before I could drive an automatic.

I just recently attained my grandma's treadle. It's in really, really bad shape, but I'm determined to refurbish it. Somehow.
