Sign me up, I am on my way! This must be a wonderful place to live. It would be such a blessing to have like centers throughout the country because so many older citizens need companionship that challenges them to continue using their talents. Even if they don't need the quilts for personal use, there are so many charities and needs that could benefit from their diverse talents. So many of the quilters just don't have the funds to purchase the better machines and fabrics, or they can't travel to meet with groups. I would think they would have much richer lives if they could meet with folks who have similar interests.

    Yeah!!

I need to speak with my girlfriend. She's a real-estate developer who specializes in small developments that have homes with acreage and people of a like-mind. She's done an "artists" development in VA, a "horsey" development in VT, a "kennel" development in PA, and is now working on a "green and off the grid" development in TX.

I want one for sewers/quilters with a sewing center that all could use.
What a cool profession your girlfriend chose. Actually my mom lives in community near Las Vegas that is kind of like that. The community center has a huge sewing workshop area with all different kinds of machines, cutting tables, and a LA! I just about fainted when I saw it. And all the machines were nice ones, Janomes, Berninas, Husqvernas the whole gammet. When the sewing center is open there are always a few ladies in there using it. They have other workshops too, ceramics, computers, etc.

just imagine, if we were all neighbors how big the fabric store would be, let alone how many! it would be awesome too because if you wanted to try something new, I bet someone would know how to do it and we wouldn't have to worry about finding a video on youtube! ah, that would be so much fun! I wish I knew someone near me that liked to quilt because let me tell you, I'd be over there all the time! But good luck!
