Ahh my fabric has arrived...in the dryer now getting ready for ironing and cutting. I found the colors to be better in person, so I am hoping to knock this one out over the weekend.

Why not a pastel version of both colors? Sorry I did not read all the answers, this may duplicate someone else's answer.

Well, at this point, it's mostly because the fabric is drying in my dryer, and I am trying to make sense out of the 9 patch directions!

But I think now that I have seen the materials that I made some good choices...

Can't wait to see the quilt. It sounds like it will be an interesting and challenging project!

Janie, I am in despair. I just dont think I was meant to work with long strips or flannel.

When I was making my husband a flannel quilt in the middle of the summer, I finally turned the air conditioner down really low and it made the warmth of the flannel easier to deal with. Maybe it was all "in my mind" but it did get the quilt finished! LOL

I am hating on the flannel, but I wanted to post of pic of how the colors are coming together, they look much better than I imagined. Now if I could get my sewing straight. I admit, some of the fabric quality is a little lower. I attempted to rip out a seam today and the fabric just shredded around the seam. Does not bode well for being a keepsake.

Yes, I KNOW the sewing is not that great, but I am a beginner after all...
