There sure seems to be alot of beautiful machines in the Chicage area. I do not have room for another and it is a little far to drive but they sure are nice.

Also, if I have to buy a feed dog cover or something, are there boardmembers out there I could contact about the part before resorting to other websites?
Yes they make a darning plate that goes over the feed dogs and then you can FMQ all you want! :D

Do you know if there is a darning plate made for the Singer 401 ?

For those familiar with the Singer 66, is there a feed dog cover or something similar to buy to attempt FMQ on the machine? Since I bought her, I've had glowing reviews about FMQ on the 15's, but I don't have a 15, I have a 66. Since the 66 will be my only vintage machine for a while, I might as well learn how to FMQ on her since it was the reason I purchased her.
Also, if I have to buy a feed dog cover or something, are there boardmembers out there I could contact about the part before resorting to other websites?
Thank you,
Melissa

I called and the lady told me that they both had machines, but were older so she was just selling the cabinets and just including the machines. One is a 328 and the other is a 306. Both have the cams and one has the book and other accessories. I have no need for either, but I have a feeling I will call her back tomorrow. One has a Queen Anne cabinet and the other is a desk type one with a basket weave pattern on the front. What do yall think?

I have one that goes under the monogramer the covers the feed dogs for a slant shank machine - feed cover 161825. That seems to work pretty good. I also have a regular darning plate that I haven't tried yet. I see the darning plate is cheaper and easier to find. I need to find that post that gives the tips on FMQ with a 401! Help needed please! ;)
