When I first signed up to this board, I was trying to decide on a name. Looking around my sewing room for a clue, there was a doll on the shelf that I made. It is buttons all over the head. That is why my handle is 'buttonhead'.

When I married I took my husband's last name. It is French Canadian. Pronounced Gir (as in Giraffe) and roo (as in Kangaroo). When I say it fast, it sounds like Drew. So there you have it!

This thread is so much fun! I love the stories. My ID came from my DH. Way back when I first got an email, in the 90's I think, my hubby came up with sewmom and since I'm not very imaginative, I use it for almost everything. I've been sewing since I was a kid, so it fits.

What a fun way to start the day - great thread & love hearing all the stories of the names.

Mine isn't very original - I'm really a great-great granny, having 3 great-great grand kids.

I'M VERY BLESSED to have 2 children, 4 grand children, 9 great grand kids & 3 great-great grand kids - oldest grand child is 43 & youngest grt-grt is 2.

Have a blessed day & fill all your quilts w/much love.

When I first joined another board about ten years ago, I had a terrible time finding a webname. Everything I wanted was taken. I settled on agoldencomet (a golden comet because I don't like using underscores, LOL). A golden comet is a breed of chicken which has feathers the colour of my hair LOL I just added one as a temporary avatar.

Great fun reading all the entries here.

I've been sewing since Home Ec in high school many, many years ago and quiltmaking for 26 years---so I wanted to use "cutandsew" but it was already taken. After a few tries I ended up with "kutnso". My real name is Monalisa so you can imagine all the teasing. I also paint, so now I only use half of my given name, Mona.
Happy sewing, Kutnso
