I certainly would do it in a heart beat, I did not like the size of my bedroom in an apartment and turned the living room into my bedroom. go for it enjoy it and the view.

Me too! Your home is for the comfort and enjoyment of you and yours...so enjoy a larger sewing area! :)

It is your house, you do what makes you happy. I don't think it is a stupid idea at all.

Sounds good to me. I sew in my dining room now, and it and the living room are open to each other. If I could ever get a long arm, the only place it would fit would be the living room.

Sounds to me that the larger room will work fine for you.....unless you like to shut a door on your sewing room.

Sadie - sounds like you're doing just what it's intended for....."living". Too many people have rooms in their homes that are mainly for company........you're doing it up the right way.

Don't think there's any law against it so use the rooms in your house as you want and enjoy your view.
