When we lived in NH, I made dayglo orange fleece jackets for my dog, who is deer color. We lived on 20 acres, surrounded by hunters.

I once reupholstered birthing stirrups for a Doctor. That is by far the weirdest thing I have ever sewed.

Hmmm I made a custom fit draft blocker for the bottom of our fireplace. I had to make "wings" so that we could sort of flop them over the top to help block the wind!

I made some fabric/paper/stamped collages and framed them and sold them in a gallery for a year, only sold two. They made great gifts! I also made costumes in college for a dance production. One of the costumes was a short red vinyl skirt with suspenders... LOL, it was the 60's...

I made a boat cover Once. It took up my whole room on the floor while I was working on it.

The most unusual thing I have ever made was 2 WWII officer's tents. The tents were sewed on an old Singer walking foot sewing machine. I used green canvac treated canvas material. I went to Fort Knox and the museum curator showed me micro files with patterns, I found the pattern, printed it out and sewed the tents. It was like sewing on a crayon. I had to constantly clean the treatment off the machine, my hands and table - the stuff was gross. In the end I had no scraps - the design was very efficient. The tents were wall tents- the walls were split up the sides and were made to roll up for air to go through. There was a little door on the front of the tent for air to get through or maybe a stove hole - I don't really know why it was there. The tents each had an awning to go over the tops with an air space for insulation. Then there was a third awning that went between the tents. I never saw the tents set up. I did hear that two WWII vets looked at it and made the comment that they didn't think there were any of those left. So I must have done something right.

When my step GS's mother was getting re-married he wanted to take his favorite bear to the wedding. Mom said Fuzzy couldn't go because he didn't have a tux. (Smart move.) Enter Gramma. A complete tux for Fuzzy with bow tie, cummberbund etc. and even a satin stripe down the pants legs. Fuzzy went to the wedding, created quite a stir but didn't make me his Mom's favorite person.
