What's the Most Unusual Item You've Ever Made?
#371
I made a skunk costume for my granddaughter who was 18 months old. I used about 12 different kinds of fabric/craft items and it turned out fantastic. We still howl when we see her in the costume. She did not like it at all. The only part of her body that you could see was part of her face, the rest of the costume completely covered her, it was great for the cold weather.

The most unusual thing I ever made
The most unusual thing I have ever made was a sea scape picture made out of dryer lint for my laundry room. My husband thought I was perhaps a bored housewife. He just does'nt understand the need to create in us creative types.

unusual items
My children were involved in Little Theater for the play, "The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe".The Lion 's costumer bowed out, & the director came to me, asking for help. I made the costume, but couldn't figure out how to do the mane. Finally, I used paper ribbon, curled, & sewn in place all over the head piece. He had a very "fuzzy" head, indeed!

Weirdest thing I have ever made was brown suede drapes for the Pig Barn at the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The buildings are now being used for alternative uses, and there was to be a wedding held in what was once the pig barn, so the wedding co-ordinator asked if I could make these drapes.

I forgot about the parade costumes. I had to hire seamtresses to get them done on time. The local VFW, 40 strong, marched in the parade dressed as Revolutionary War troops. We made them authentic costumes and they won the Grand Prize. In spite of those sunglasses. It was kind of fun measuring all those inseams.
