Much as I love my 301, my Elna still gets used. Who else would sew three layers of dog leash after a certain furgirl got chewy? If you can force it under the presser foot, it can be sewn. Mine is a little newer - the light blue SU.

The art pieces are great, but I hope working machines weren't pirated.

I wish that Redeye in Grand Rapids hadn't been posted. It's in better shape than this one I can't get clean and the cabinet is a much nicer model. I will ignore it because my son found this one, but it's hard.

I hope those pieces weren't pirated also. I'm seeing some interesting items being used for earrings and necklaces recently. That hard to find vintage sewing machine piece may just be found in an earring or jewelry case somewhere.

Monica, that is so cool! The only treadle I have with feet for the pedal is my Wheeler & Wilson! My Eldredge Two Spools has a pedal - not feet! I learned how to treadle by reading the manuals of some of my treadles! Putting one whole foot on the pedal and only the toe of the second foot is the recommended method, but I doubt that is the preferred method with a treadle with feet! The main thing is practice practice practice! I remember when I started treadling, I'd just go back and forth and break thread! So frustrating! Now, that seems years ago as I don't even think twice when I sit down to treadle - since treadling is my preferred sewing method now!

OK, now I know what my Dear Daughter the Artist will do with my machines. Could be worse, she could use the irons for tables. LOL

I was in a shop in the Bay Area that's selling lots of vintage machine items that were made into jewelry. Just google for images and look on Etsy.

sometimes you can put a regular needle in just do not push it all the way to the top of the slot try until it works.
