FW issues URGENT
#11
Hi Jacquie,
Just looked at the picture of your featherweight. It is in such good condition, but I so dislike it when people put tape on these precious jewels. It can be difficult to remove sometime and we surely don't want to mar those lovely decals.
NOTICE: To all tapers, it has a hole for a seam guide, please use it.

I use "GOO GONE" on anything sticky, like those stickers they put on the glass in picture frames (grrr!!) and also on tape and stickers left on sewng machines. But, if you use "GOO GONE", be sure to NOT buy the one that says "Xtreme remover" as it contains Acetone, Toulene, and Methanol. Not only is it too strong and will strip your finish, but can cause brain damage from prolonged overexposure. The one I use is an oily, liquid substance that smells like lemon and is very effective.

Goo-off works well for taking tape off and doesn't hurt the finish one bit. Remember Lostin51 uses Kerosene to soak machine and parts when restoring them. Another possible problem (not that this one has it) is the lower tension will cause the thread to break. My repair guy told me that it was the most common problem for FW's. If you adjust it make sure you only turn 1 quarter turn of the lower tension screw at a time. Then test. Hope this helped..
I was also wondering how much they wanted for the "Toy" sewing machine in Photo #16?
