What is a "flimsy"??
#41
I have never heard that term connected with patchwork and quilting here in the U.K.Flimsy often refers to the bottom copy of a carbon document. or something that is very lightweight

can see a quilt top referred to as a flimsy--as in, not as sturdy or "rigid" as a fully quilted 3 layers. i've seen suggestions that voile can be used for quilt backs. that would certainly be more flimsy that a patchwork top. i've moved quite a bit in the u.s. and have only heard the expression on this board. i admit i sometimes refer to my quilt tops as flimsies, and use leaders, but not enders. good idea, tho' as i have a 2" sq. patchwork to do and that would be killing two birds with one stone! reminder, virtual quilting bee this sunday!
