I just took my mother's quilt to the LAQ today! I, usually, start in January. But, I don't use Christmas fabric. Mostly it's bed quilts that I do.

generally as soon as the holidays are over i am planning- starting on projects for the next season- i tend to work on projects year around- some of them make it to Christmas- other times i wind up giving stuff away for birthdays- other occassions that come up-

All of the above. Each year is different for me.

December 24.......just kidding! Promised myself that no way would I get in the time crunch I did last year. Newly retired so I already have quite a nice little pile of pieced tops that would make excellent gifts even if I didn't piece another thing this year. Am thinking already of putting together a pumpkin wall quilt. I like being about one season ahead of the present. Does anyone else get a jump start on the seasons also?

I usually start right after the holidays. We have birthdays, anniversaries, etc. every month of the year; and, go figure, this year it's been the year for milestones: new babies, 65th birthdays, retirements, 13th birthdays, first communion, etc. so it's one thing after another in this house. Lately, I've been stockpiling quilts to have on hand for occasions where I don't have time to make something.

I get the bug right after Christmas when the fabric is on sale. Then I go to retreat in Jan. What a great time to work on gifts. Back to reality and a big stall until it is usually too late to get all I want done. I am alway thinking and planning. It is the follow thru part that gets me. Too many other ideas get in the way.

Well, I'm always thinking about and planning Christmas projects, but actually executing the plan is another story. Always seem to get sidetracked with other things and ideas. But you guys have inspired me!!! I'll be making my list of Christmas to do's this week!!
