Machine always. Sometimes sew to back and pull to front and use a decorative stitch. Sometimes sew to front and pull to back and attach with a straight stitch of neutral color. My hands cannot handle handsewing on the binding and I find nothing wrong with it.

I always hand bind my quilts. I love that final time with my quilt and I love the way it looks. Put too much time into my quilt and quilting to speed finish them.

the kids quilts I make for charities are machine binded with fancy stitches, all others are hand stitched.

I machine stitch both side if I know the quilt will be washed a lot (Kids), but for my guild's annual show, I hand stitch the binding on.

I would love to be able to sew binding on by machine, but everytime I try, I am not happy with the results. I have a friend that does a beautiful job by machine. I sew on the front by machine, and stitch by hand on the back. It is a great relaxer for me. I always try to take it a long if I am going to be sitting for a long time, like in a car, or in a waiting room.

I machine stitch the front, turn it around and hand stitch the back. I like the finished look of a hidden binding.

I had a friend who used to machine stitch hers on until I came into her life and now she does 1/2 and 1/2 too!

I usually machine stitch to the front and hand-sew to the back, but I want to do more machine binding, so I'll try this. I have done the envelope method (birthing) and then top-stitched next to the turned edge.

I always hand bind. I also enjoy doing that part. Just like I enjoy seaming things when I knit.
