Hmmm. That has me thinking now. Usually it is the other way around. $3 for the machine and $275 for shipping! Either way, too much for me...

Actually an ad for a Victorola but they call it "Victoria"

    http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sfc/atq/3882735057.html

    Favorite quotes from this ad...
"I'VE BEEN OFFERED $1,500 by TONS of Antiques, but I didn't want to sell it then. SO THIS IS A GREAT DEAL."

When the Antiques start talking and making offers it is time for me to get out of the business....

    "
AFTER REFERRING TO eBAY ITEMS WOULD TOTAL WELL OVER $1,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

    Makes no sense at all

"ALSO HAVE A SINGER SEWING MACHINE AS WELL THAT'S FOR SALE AS WELL."

Well, that is certainly good news...

I guess there are a lot of antiques with no financial sense. Could have to do with the fact that they're (typically?) inanimate objects...

Oh that cranky Victoria! She's always making furniture talk. ... And give out prices too! $1000 here, $1500 there, here an offer there an offer, you make an offer, ... we can work it out. Here is an offer Vicky, how about you take the talking furniture and the sewing machine to La La Land on your next visit. Ok? I bet it is real soon. I hear you can get retail there. You don't know if it works or not? Well the sugar plum fairies can help you when you get there.
Tra la la, of to the bank you go now....
Geesh! I think it is wearing off on me now...
Ok, who hasn't wanted to say something like that to a seller (or buyer) or two???
