I had a former cousin in law who ALWAYS made fudge, but she NEVER
made it on a cloudy day as she claimed it always came out grainy if she
did.

Personally I don't know if that was just her way of getting out of making
it during the holidays this was in NC.

I haven't made it in YEARS myself I follow the recipe of one of the products
just can't remember which one it was the cocoa, condensed milk can or the
marshmallow fluff stuff.

Since I became diabetic (9 years ago) I haven't made the fudge.

Had to laugh about you using the word " kibitzed" , my mother in law always used that word or kibitzing. Brings back fond, sweet memories of her.

One of the things that's important in making great creamy fudge is to cook it very, very slowly!!! I cook mine on medium low heat...which gives the sugar plenty of time to dissolve...and I don't bring it to the full temp...instead I do the old fashioned method my mom taught me...soft ball stage in cold water.

My favorite part of making fudge, was scraping the pot, afterwards. We always made it from scratch, with none of the shortcuts. Doesn't appeal to me, anymore (too much sugar) but I love the memories!

I have a question? Is there still someone out there that will be sending Internationally? If so, I would like to mail my package, at the same time they do. Hopefully with two boxes going out at the same time, the recipient won't be able to guess who their SS is!! I hope everyone is having fun packing their boxes!! I need to finish up making my handmade SURPRISE!! Hope she likes it!!

yeah Sulabug, you're in the upper 48! All the way up in the NW corner! You go any further & you won't be in the USA!

Hint for the day: I've had whales of fun in your state!

Thanks SulaBug for the nice comment on my avatar photo.

That is my oldest furbaby Bandi (the one we just found out has a bad heart).
I have that same photo enlarged to a 16x20 framed and hanging on the wall.

Unless you live in Hawaii or Alaska than you could be on my list of SSR. (That
was my clue to say I am NOT shipping outside the USA.

LOL
