    Default Wreath cookie experiment ?

I found this thread on QB and want to try it but......

    http://www.quiltingboard.com/recipes...ml#post6469437

This is my story and I'm sticking to it.

I bought all the ingredients and went on the hunt for a cookie press. I don't own one of these contraptions.
Found one at Joanns' ,of all places, for a whopping $35.00. Well, that is just not a good investment of $ for an experiment so what I did was invest in a large size cake decorating tip and piping bag for $5.00, with the idea of just piping the cookie dough rather than pressing it.

Do you think this will work, yes, no and why? I am not a person that does a lot of baking so so I charge you all with teaching me a thing or two!

    Thanks so much for advice.

PS: I will at some time invest in the press when I get my hands on a 50% off coupon
    peace

Been there. Done that. It works. You can even go lower tech and just stuff it in a zip lock bag, cut the corner off and squeeze. It doesn't have the nice star shape if you just use a zipper bag, but I feed teenage boys so it doesn't matter.

You do not need to spend $35 for a cookie press. There are much cheaper ones available that would work just fine.

After making the wreaths, you can make some Spritz cookies and try all of the disc designs.

    Good luck.

A good sized star tip and pastry bag will definately work. The difference is the cookie press helps with the pressure to push out the dough. With the pastry bag, your hands have to do the pressing.

I got one at a yard sale for a couple bucks. Love it and the cookies!

It's a wonderful recipe, a very soft cookie, yummy. My cookie press didn't like the dough but then, I don't like the cookie press. I think a star tip will work fine.

Yard sales and Thrift store for cookie presses. I have done the plastic bag trick and they worked fine, I have also tried the pastry bags with the star tip which worked better. Now I have a yard sale press and my father gave me my moms. Now I have no excuse not to make cookies.
