I second the stonehenge collection! I'm making a quilt for DH and bought yardage from Stonehenge for it. He loves the fabric.

The batiks in Browns make a nice masculine quilt, Bali Pops has a lot to choose from.

Carla, Love your blocks, My idea for mine is a geometric modern look, and then make some sashiko embroidery and add patches like a boro.

I think is a very ambitious task for my level of skills but.... no pain no gain!!!!

I'm just starting a "manly" geometric quilt using Moda Marbles--warm colorway: http://www.missouriquiltco.com/shop/...arm-jelly-roll

There are 4 each of 10 colors...very rich, very masculine.

Thanks, Marta. And your blues and sashiko will be fabulous! I can't wait to see that one.

I was going to suggest batiks. Check out Connecting threads. The only problem with batiks is that it may be difficult to get enough contrast in the fabrics, so you might have to cut your own strips of the lighter fabrics. Or buy a jr of just lighter fabrics to add to the rest of the jr.

Just purchased a Stonehenge jellyroll from Missouri Star Quilt Company (47% 0ff - Daily Deal), Sounds perfect for what you have in mind. MSQC is my fav, but I only purchase the daily deals

I would probably make my own JR because I don't think the standard number would make a large enough quilt and when I tried to find fabric to go with it, I could not find anything to my liking. (It ended up in the box sent to someone else to complete. Using the theory of one man's trash is another man's treasure.)
