Montgomery Ward UHT J1261
My "herd" consists mostly of Kenmores and some Singers. I had the good fortune to find this "Montgomery Ward" model UHT J1261 machine for $2. Really dirty and has a little corrosion on foot pedal and on the bottom of the only presser foot. No big deal and sews like a dream. I would like to find more presser feet. So far none of my other feet are a match. Can anyone lead me in a direction? I see MW machines on ebay but no attachments. I realize there was no MW sewing machine company of course.
I took a photo of the presser foot but the file is too big to upload here and I can't figure that out. Anyway, it's a slanted. high foot, not low shank.
Thanks so much!
Kathie

IIRC pictures need to be 640x480 pixels or smaller to load them on the site. If you don't have a program that will resize your pictures you can either download a free program like PIXprsizer or use a photo hosting site like photobucket to do it.
I know I'm interested in which feet it uses too. I thought only Singer used a slant shank though it's very possible I'm wrong on that.
The only MW machine we have here uses low shank feet.
Sew-Classic.com has a guide to different feet here: http://shop.sew-classic.com/What-sha...hank-Style.htm
That might help you find the right feet too.

Thanks Rodney,
I have that chart for feet. It does say "Singer" slant which I never thought might mean there are others.
My camera let me re size.
Left to right - Kenmore 1802, MW, Singer 404.
Interesting, right?

Boy, am I sorry I bothered everyone with this. The Singer foot DOES fit except that it has a small "foot print", no pun. The Singer foot doesn't allow for the full width ZZ. and it doesn't quite cover the feed dogs. And the MW is left homing.
Will report back. Thanks Rodney.

Kenmore = Ultra High Shank
MW = High Shank
Singer 404 = Slant shank.
You might get away with using the Singer foot on the MW, but if you use the MW foot on the Singer you are risking knocking the presser foot shaft out of adjustment. Those two feet are similar, but not interchangeable.

Oh yeah, those 70s and up Singer feet are terrible. When my we use those vintage machines we toss the factory foot in a box and put on a much better aftermarket foot. It makes a tremendous improvement in sewing for those machines.
