Today I just happened to buy something to help me do the same thing. It is called Wilton Scoop it Batter Spoons. It is a set of 3 spoons, kinda oval shape. They are for mini, regular and large cupcake sizes. the spoon itself is like a shiny heavy plastic and the edges are silicone. I am sure that you can google it or look under the Wilton site. I got mine at Joann's and used a 50% off coupon so I only paid $3 for the set, which I thought was great.

This is what I use for muffins and cupcakes. They come in 3 sizes. I use the little one for cookies, and the middle one for filling cupcakes and muffins, and the large one for the large muffins. Very few drips.
